At every Holy Mass, the Church encourages the faithful to participate with a specific intention: to give thanks to God, to ask for the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit, for God’s blessing, and for the protection of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary.
You may request a Holy Mass—asking the priest to pray for your specific intention and to announce it during the Mass so that the entire community may join in prayer.
- We may pray for the living: for ourselves, our loved ones, friends, and priests, or on the occasion of a birthday, anniversary, or other life event.
- We may pray for the deceased: that they may soon partake in the glory of Heaven.
- We may pray for general intentions: for the Church, for peace, for all families, and similar causes.
